IPL Retention 2022: The deadline for retaining players for the current eight franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL) ended today (Tuesday). The four players who are going to retain Mumbai Indians have been announced. The team has decided to retain Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Kieron Pollard.
The franchise has retained Rohit Sharma for Rs 16 crore. Bumrah has been retained for Rs 12 crore, Suryakumar for Rs 8 crore and Pollard for Rs 6 crore. The five-time champion team will now prepare the team keeping captain Rohit Sharma and fast bowling attack leader Jasprit Bumrah around. However, the challenge before the team was to choose between Suryakumar and Ishan Kishan. Hardik Pandya is not the same all-rounder because of his inability to bowl but the team can try to buy him again in the auction.

In the last moments before the big auction to be held next year, most of the teams are trying to keep the players of their choice with them. After finalizing the retained players of the current eight team, the two new franchises Lucknow and Ahmedabad will get a chance to choose three players from December 1 to 25, followed by an auction in January. Explain that the current eight teams can retain a maximum of four players, in which there cannot be more than three Indians and not more than two foreign players.
