Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed jailed for 31 years, co-founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba

New Delhi | Hafiz Saeed Jailed: The victims of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack in India got justice today. Pakistan’s Anti Terror Court on Friday sentenced terrorist Hafiz Saeed to 31 years in jail, along with a fine of Rs 3 lakh 40 thousand. The court has sentenced Hafiz in two cases of terror funding.

UN declared global terrorist
Hafiz Saeed Jailed: Hafiz Saeed, a dreaded terrorist who has been hiding comfortably in Pakistan for years, is the chief of Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JUD). In July 2019, Hafiz Saeed was arrested by the Counter Terrorism Department. Hafiz Saeed has been declared a global terrorist by the United Nations. Apart from this, America has also placed a bounty of 10 million US dollars on Hafiz.

Main culprit of terrorist attack in India
Hafiz Saeed is guilty of 161 deaths in India. Hafiz Saeed is the mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack. Hafiz Saeed was born in Sargodha, Punjab province of Pakistan. He is the founder of Jamaat-ud-Dawa. Hafiz had formed this organization when Lashkar-e-Taiba was banned in Pakistan. After the attacks on America on September 11, 2001, the US declared Lashkar-e-Taiba a foreign terrorist organization. In 2002, the Pakistani government also banned Lashkar. After that Hafiz Saeed renamed Lashkar-e-Taiba as Jamaat-ud-Dawa.
