Mukesh Khanna had raised questions on Sonakshi Sinha’s upbringing, the actress said – If he says this again…
Mukesh Khanna, who plays Shaktiman and Bhishma in BR Chopra’s Mahabharata, recently criticized Sonakshi Sinha for not being able to answer a question based on Ramayana during an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 11. In a recent interview with YouTuber Siddharth Kannan, Mukesh Khanna held Sonakshi’s father Shatrughan Sinha responsible for his lack of knowledge. Now, the ‘Dabangg’ actress has come forward and reacted to Mukesh Khanna’s criticism on her Instagram handle. He wrote a long note addressing the issue in the Stories section.
How did it all start?
During the interview, Mukesh Khanna talked about reviving his iconic character Shaktimaan for the current generations.he said”I think today’s children need Shaktimaan’s guidance more than the children of the 1970s. Today’s children are getting away from the internet. They hang out with girlfriends and boyfriends and eventually, they can’t even remember their grandparents’ names. A girl could not even tell for whom Lord Hanuman had brought Sanjeevani Booti.
When the YouTuber specifically asked if he was referring to Sonakshi, Mukesh replied, “Yes, and this was when she was Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter.” His brothers’ names are Luv and Kush. People were angry that Sonakshi didn’t know this, but I would say it’s not her fault – it’s her father’s fault. Why didn’t they teach this to their children? Why did they become so modern? If I were Shaktiman today, I would sit the children and teach them about Indian culture and Sanatan Dharma.
Sonakshi Sinha’s answer
In the stories section of her Instagram handle, the actress wrote, “Dear Sir Mukesh Khanna ji, I recently read a statement from you in which you said that it is my father’s fault that I talked about Ramayana in a show many years ago. One question was not answered correctly. First of all, let me remind you that there were two women in the hot seat that day who did not know the answer to the same question, but you continued to take my name, and only my name, for reasons that are quite obvious. Yes, I may have forgotten that day, it’s a human tendency, and may have forgotten for whom Sanjeevani Booti was brought, but clearly you have learned some of the lessons of forgiveness and forgetting taught by Lord Rama. Have also forgotten.”
Talking about the forgiving nature of Lord Rama, he said, ”If Lord Rama can forgive Manthara, if he can forgive Kaikeyi, if he can forgive even Ravana after the great war, So of course you can forget this very small thing… not that I need your apology. Not that I need your apology. But yes, I definitely want you to forget and stop raising the same incident again and again so that I and my family get in the news.
