The government has given the gift of MSP to the farmers. The government has announced an increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of 14 Kharif crops. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the increase in MSP for all mandatory Kharif (summer) crops for the 2022-23 crop year.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that the MSP of paddy (general) has been increased by Rs 100 from last year. After this, the MSP of paddy has increased from Rs 1,940 per quintal to Rs 2,040 per quintal. The support price of ‘A’ grade variety of paddy has been increased from Rs 1,960 to Rs 2,060 per quintal. Let us inform that for the third time in a row since 2020, the government has increased the MSP of Kharif crops.

Giving information about the decisions of the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Anurag Thakur said that the minimum support price of sesame has been increased by Rs 523. At the same time, the MSP of tur and urad dal has been increased by Rs 300.
Paddy is the main crop of Kharif, sowing of which has started. The Meteorological Department has forecast a normal monsoon for the June-September period.
