Jharkhand gets new airport

Deoghar, Jharkhand’s one more international airport has become operational as well as AIIMS has also started. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the international airport at Deoghar in Jharkhand and also inaugurated a 250-bed AIIMS. On this occasion, he inaugurated and dedicated projects worth Rs 16,000 crore. The Prime Minister also offered prayers at the temple of Baba Baidyanath and addressed a public meeting just before the start of the month of Sawan. Modi is the first prime minister to offer prayers at the Baidyanath temple.

Prime Minister Modi had laid the foundation stone of the airport in Deoghar four years ago. Four years later, he inaugurated this airport built at a cost of Rs 410 crore. This is the second international airport of Jharkhand. Apart from this, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the AIIMS built in Deoghar, which has a facility of 250 beds. On this occasion, Modi said – today with the blessings of Baba Baidyanath, projects worth more than Rs 16,000 crore have been inaugurated and the foundation stone has been laid. These are going to give a lot of impetus to Jharkhand’s modern connectivity, energy, health, faith and tourism.

The Prime Minister said that development of Jharkhand would lead to development of eastern India. He said that the development of the nation through the development of the states, the country has been working with this thinking for the last eight years. In the last eight years, highway, railway, airway, waterways, trying to connect Jharkhand in every way, the same thinking, this feeling has been paramount. The Prime Minister said that today the benefits of the efforts of the government are visible in the whole country. Under the UDAN scheme, in the last five-six years, about 70 new places have been added through airports, heliports and water aerodromes.

Prime Minister Modi flagged off the Deoghar-Kolkata flight of airline IndiGo from the new airport. Airbus A320 aircraft can also take off from the two and a half thousand meters long runway of the airport. Modi had laid the foundation stone of Deoghar airport on 25 May 2018. On the occasion of its inauguration, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the airport will be connected to Ranchi, Patna and Delhi in the coming days. Governor Ramesh Bais and Chief Minister Hemant Soren and ministers of the Central and State Governments were present on the occasion of the inauguration, launch of the development project.
