IPL 2021: KKR has managed to achieve a spectacular victory by seven wickets against Mumbai Indians. KKR captain Eoin Morgan has credited the bowlers for this victory. Describing his bowlers as ‘superstars’, Morgan has said that it is because of them that the team has been able to make a comeback in the 14th season of IPL. Apart from this, Morgan also praised young batsman Venkatesh Iyer.
Morgan says that the performance of the bowlers in the last two matches has been unmatched. KKR restricted RCB to only 92 runs and then allowed Mumbai Indians to score only 155 runs. Opener Venkatesh Iyer played useful innings of 41 runs in the first match and 53 runs in the second match. Now KKR’s team has reached the fourth position in the points table.
Morgan said, “I don’t think the team has changed because of one player. I believe in the last two matches we have had superstar bowlers. He bowled really well on helpful wickets to bat on.
Morgan also credited the bowlers for the success of the batsmen. He said, “I believe it was because of the excellent performance of the bowlers that our opening pair of Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer got the freedom to play their game.”
Morgan called Iyer’s impressive batsman. He said, “I think Venkatesh played such an innings today which you can equate to a player who played 50 IPL matches. The way he batted is really great. He is very impressive for a top-order batsman.
