Meaning of Liz Truss’s victory

Britain’s new prime minister, Liz Truss, is the third female prime minister. He has achieved this highest position by defeating Conservative Party candidate Rishi Sunak. She was foreign minister in the previous Boris Johnson government. Rishi Sunak is a loser but he got 43 percent votes while Truss got 57 percent votes. Sunak is not English. are of Indian origin. His father is Gujarati and mother is Punjabi. Despite this, he got 60 thousand votes against 81 thousand votes of the truss, which in itself is a matter of pride for Indians.

An Indian got the opportunity to reach the throne of the same Englishman who ruled India for almost 200 years. It was Sunak’s courage that he resigned and brought down Boris Johnson’s government. He was highly appreciated as the Finance Minister, but many petty controversies raised question marks on his image. If he had won, it would have become a remarkable event of the 21st century, but in the statement he has given despite losing, you can see a glimpse of Indian generosity and dignity. He has congratulated Truss and described the Conservative Party as a family.

It is difficult to say what kind of Prime Minister Liz Truss will prove to be. No one can shake her chair for the next two years but how she will be able to win her party in the 2024 elections remains to be seen. He will have full support of Boris Johnson, but his condition has become like that of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif at this time. The time in which she became the Prime Minister is as bad as it has not been in the last several decades. In Britain, the problems of inflation, unemployment, epidemics etc. have raised their heads, its economy is in complete turmoil. Common man is very upset about paying government tax.

The truss says that they will not hesitate to reduce the tax. But many labor organizations in Britain have already announced strikes and demonstrations. Several statements made by him as foreign minister have been ridiculed by British newspapers, but his anti-Russian policy regarding Ukraine has received considerable support. He is also determined to close Britain’s relationship with the European Union. She will also be active in opposing the Indo-Pacific policy of Russia-China. The Russian government has ridiculed the Prime Ministership of the Truss, but despite the defeat of Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has welcomed the Truss.

It is no wonder that a free trade agreement between India and Britain should be signed during the truss period itself. She has visited India twice in the capacity of Foreign Minister. It is also possible that some leaders of Indian origin in his cabinet may be given important portfolios. The British leader who had defeated Rishi Sunak would benefit more only in showing extra generosity towards India.
