Two attackers involved in Musewala’s murder killed

Chandigarh. The Punjab Police on Tuesday had an encounter with the suspects involved in the murder of well-known Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala. Gangsters Jagroop Roopa and Manpreet alias Mannu were killed in a four-hour encounter in a village near Amritsar. Three policemen and journalists were also injured. It is being told that both the gangsters killed were involved in the murder of Musewala. The police had received information about their hiding in a village, after which the police surrounded the village and started action.

According to police officials, Jagroop Roopa was first killed in the encounter but the second suspect Manpreet Singh continued to fire for about an hour. He too was gunned down after about four hours of firing. The encounter took place in Bhakna Kalanaur village of Amritsar. A news channel’s cameraman has also been shot in the leg in the firing of criminals.

State police chief Gaurav Yadav had also reached the encounter site at Bhakna village, about 20 km from Amritsar. ADGP Pramod Ben, who headed the Anti-Gangster Task Force of Punjab Police, said that a large number of cartridges and magazines, besides AK 47 and foreign pistols, were recovered from the slain criminals. It is being said that Manpreet was the shooter who fired the first bullet at Moosewala with an AK 47 rifle.
