Massive protest against increase in court fees in Jharkhand

Ranchi, On Monday, on the call of Jharkhand State Bar Council in protest against the increase in court fees by the state government, advocates in the entire state kept themselves away from judicial work. On the call of the Bar Association, its impact was seen in various districts of the state including Ranchi. Judicial work in the High Court almost came to a standstill on Monday. Advocates from across the state appeared united against the hike in court fees. Advocates lodged a protest by wearing black badges in the court premises. Advocates of Ranchi Civil Court also took out a protest march from Behavioral Court to Albert Ekka Chowk. Earlier, a court fee of Rs 250 was charged for filing a PIL. Due to the increase in court fees, now a fee of Rs 1000 has been fixed for this.
