Mary Kom and Amit Panghal get place in National Camp, 4 more boxers join for coaching

Mary Kom Amit Panghal Boxing National Camp 2022: Six-time world champion MC Mary Kom and Asian Games gold medalist Amit Panghal have been included in the ongoing women’s and men’s national camps in Delhi and Patiala. It includes Mary Kom and Amit as well as six Indian boxers. Other boxers to join the men’s camp in Patiala along with Panghal are Vikas Krishan, Manish Kaushik, Satish Kumar and Ashish Kumar. Vikas is fit after the Olympics after undergoing shoulder surgery last year.
Mary Kom will report at the women’s camp at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) recommended the inclusion of the names of these boxers. The Sports Authority of India (SAI) said in a statement that both the camps will run till March 14.
These six boxers were not included in the camps held in December last year as they did not participate in the national championship after the Tokyo Olympics. Sai said, “Olympian boxers will now join the camp which started from January 3 with the boxers participating in the national championship.”

63 male boxers in different weight categories and 27 coaching and support staff are in the ongoing national camp at NIS, Patiala. A total of 57 women boxers, including Olympic bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain and 25 coaching and support staff, are participating in the ongoing national camp at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.
