Road accident: Former Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry died in a horrific accident, driver lost control, car collided with divider

Cyrus Mistry, former chairman of the Tata Group and one of the country’s well-known industrialists, died in a horrific accident on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway this afternoon. The incident happened when Cyrus Mistry was returning from a Parsi temple in Udvada, Gujarat. According to the police, 54-year-old Mistry’s Mercedes rammed into a road divider on the bridge of Surya river in Charoti village near Kasa in Palghar. This car of Mercedes’ GLC 220d series of Cyrus going from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in its Rs 68 lakh Mercedes GLC 220d 4matic was equipped with all the safety features and it also had seven airbags. Despite this, the life of Cyrus Mistry could not be saved in the road accident. The Mercedes airbags also opened after the collision, but two people, including Mistry, died. There were a total of four people in the car.

Four people were in the car at the time of the accident, two injured

According to the information received in this case, the reason for the accident is that the driver has lost control of the car. The car collided with the road divider as the driver lost control. Police have released the details of the people in the Mercedes car. Along with Cyrus Mistry, Jahangir Dinsha Pandole also lost his life in the accident. At the same time, Anayata Pandole (female) and her husband Daryas Pandole were injured. Anayata is a doctor in Mumbai and she was driving the car. Her husband Darius Pandole is the CEO of JM Financial. Let us inform that on June 28 this year, Cyrus’ father and business tycoon Pallonji Mistry (93) died. After the death of Cyrus and his father, his family is survived by his mother Patsy Perrin Dubas, Shapoor Mistry, besides two sisters Laila Mistry and Alu Mistry.

The youngest chairman of Tata Sons was

Let us inform that Cyrus Pallonji Mistry, born on 4 July 1968, was the younger son of Pallonji Mistry, the head of Shapoorji Pallonji Group. Cyrus went to London to study civil engineering after his early studies from the Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai. From where he earned a master’s degree in engineering as well as management from the London Business School. In December 2012, Ratan Tata took retirement as the chairman of Tata Sons. After that Cyrus Mistry was made the chairman of Tata Sons. Cyrus Mistry was the sixth group chairman in Tata’s more than 150-year history. He was also the youngest chairman of Tata Sons.

Maharashtra Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis asked the police to conduct a detailed inquiry into the road accident in which Cyrus Mistry died. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tweeted on the death of Cyrus Mistry. He wrote, shocked and deeply saddened, spoke to the DGP and directed for a detailed inquiry.
