Both Dhoni and Sakshi have known each other since childhood. Sakshi’s grandfather was an officer of the Forest Department. Dhoni’s father used to work in a steel production factory of the Government of India, which was in Ranchi, due to which he settled in Ranchi. Sakshi’s father also worked in the same factory and they knew each other. After some time Sakshi’s father started working in the tea company of Kenai Group. Dhoni and Sakshi used to study in DAV Shyamali School which is in Ranchi. But later Sakshi’s family shifted to Dehradun.
2008 love story
After this, both of them met after about 10 years in 2007 in Kolkata. During this, Team India was staying at Taj Bengal in Kolkata. Sakshi was doing internship here. Where the two met. Sakshi’s manager Yudhajit Dutta introduced him to Dhoni. Yudhajit Dutta was also a good friend of Sakshi. Sakshi also attended Dhoni’s birthday party in Mumbai the same year. After the first meeting, Mahi asked the hotel manager Datta for Sakshi’s number and messaged her. According to media reports, Sakshi could not believe that such a famous cricketer was messaging her. After the first meeting, the two started dating in March 2008.
Dhoni and Sakshi tied the knot in 2010 after dating for a few years. The couple had a daughter in 2015, whose name is Jeeva. Like Starkids, Ziva is also quite famous on social media.
