Mumbai | Nawab Mailk Case Maharashtra : Nawab Malik, a minister in the Maharashtra government and NCP leader, is still in jail. According to the latest information, he has requested the Bombay High Court to pass an interim order regarding his release on Wednesday. Let us inform that Malik was arrested by the ED last month. In this regard, Malik’s lawyer Amit Desai told the court that the police officers cannot defame anyone on fictitious grounds in the apprehension of their involvement in organized crime. Nawab Mailk Case Maharashtra : Appearing on behalf of Malik, his lawyer told the court that two decades ago he had come under question regarding the property (which is part of the ED’s investigation) in a genuine transaction. But, Malik is now aggrieved as the original owner of the property, Munira Plumber, has changed his mind about giving power of attorney for sale of the property, he said. We are ready to go for full hearing of the matter at any date after his release, but please grant him interim relief. He has already spent 16 days in jail.

Arrested on 23 February

Nawab Mailk Case Maharashtra : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Malik was arrested on February 23 in connection with a money laundering probe related to the activities of fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and his associates. The court sent him to judicial custody on Monday. According to the ED, Malik had hatched a conspiracy to grab the plumber’s ancestral property in Kurla area of ​​the city.
According to the investigating agency, the current market value of the said property is around Rs 300 crore.
