After this, he will be able to take water till the moon is visible and from then on his fasting for about 36 hours will start.
On the third day of this great festival, the fasting devotees will offer the first Arghya to the astachal-gami sun by standing in rivers and ponds. The fasting people offer Arghya to the setting sun with fruits and tubers root. On the fourth and last day of the festival, the second Arghya will be offered to the rising sun in the rivers and ponds. Only after offering the second Arghya, the fasting fast of about 36 hours ends for the devotees and they take food and water.
In all the districts of the state including the capital Patna, the government has directed to maintain uninterrupted power system on the main roads and the link roads of the Ghats for Chhath festival. At the same time, necessary instructions have also been given to the Civil Surgeon cum Chief Medical Officers for fire fighting and emergency medical facilities. Police officers have been ordered to deal strictly with anti-social elements.
Chhath Puja committees and volunteers of different areas are constantly engaged in the work of cleaning and decorating the Ganga Ghats for Chhath Vratis in Patna. Along with this, pylons are being made on the roads leading to the river Ganges and the entire route is being decorated with colored bulbs.
