Liquor ban and mysterious deaths in Bihar

Ever since Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has banned liquor in Bihar in his insistence, there has been a big increase in the number of mysterious deaths. People die of mysterious diseases on the occasion of every festival or similar in different districts of Bihar. The relatives of those who died say that the deaths were caused by drinking, but the local administration, state government ministers and the ruling Janata Dal (U) spokesperson claim that the deaths were due to a mysterious disease. The surprising thing is that even before the post-mortem of those who died, from the collector to the minister, they declare that death has been caused by a mysterious disease.

At present, on the occasion of Holi, about 35 people have died due to mysterious disease in three districts – Banka, Bhagalpur and Madhepura. There was news in the media that the death was due to drinking, the relatives said that the death was due to drinking spurious liquor, but the government said that the death was due to a mysterious disease. Surprisingly, the post-mortem of only two of those who died was done, but even before the report came, the district collectors declared that they had died of a mysterious disease. At the time of Diwali also, about 40 people died in four districts due to a similar mysterious disease. By forming a national task force, it should be found out that after the prohibition of liquor, which such mysterious disease is spreading in Bihar, due to which such number of people are dying.
