The month of Shravan is considered to be the month of Lord Shiva. In this year 2022, the month of Shravan has started from 14th July, and this Sawan, the first month of Chaturmas, will end on 12th August. Shravan is the favorite month of Shiva. And every day in this month, there is a law to do special pooja-archa, abhishek to Shiva. Shiva wears the moon on his head. Chandra is also called Soma, and this second day of the week is known as Soma Vaar because it is dedicated to Chandra. Monday Puja has special significance in Shravan. The importance of this day has tripled due to the occurrence of three coincidences simultaneously. According to the beliefs, by observing the fast of Ekadashi and Sawan Monday together, one will get the blessings of Lord Mahadev of the gods and Vishnu, the maintainer of the universe.

The consecration of Shiva in Sawan has special significance. It is of many types, and different fruits of consecration of all types have been told. According to mythological texts, by anointing Shiva with sugarcane juice, the financial condition is strengthened and the desire to get a child is fulfilled by doing milk-abhishek. If Shiva is consecrated with curd on Sawan Monday, the obstacles coming in life are removed by the grace of Shiva. It is considered auspicious to anoint Shiva with cow’s ghee in Sawan. Performing Ghritabhishek of Shiva on Sawan Monday is believed to remove health-related problems. Anointing Shiva with Gangajal on Sawan Monday brings happiness and prosperity in the house.

Along with the last Monday of Sawan, as Ekadashi is fast on this day, worshiping Lord Shiva along with Vishnu on this day will prove to be very fruitful and beneficial for getting the blessings of both. On this day, after bathing, after performing Jalabhishek of Shivling, Shiva should be worshiped with Shodopchar. They should offer Bel leaves, flowers, bhog.

After worshiping Shiva, Lord Vishnu should be worshipped. Offering yellow flowers to Lord Vishnu on Sawan Putrada Ekadashi and duly worshiping him should apply ghee lamp. The recitation of Vishnu Sahasranama is considered to be very fruitful.

Due to the auspicious coincidence of Monday and Ekadashi, donation made on this day is considered to be the sum of attainment of renewable virtue. Therefore, after worship, the needy should be donated food, clothes, according to their reverence.

There is also a law to worship Vishnu along with Lord Shiva in Sawan. In the month of Sawan, there is a law to worship Lord Vishnu on Kamika Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha and Putrada Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha. Putrada Ekadashi fast will be observed on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Sawan. This year Shravan Putrada Ekadashi is on 8th August 2022. The fast of Putrada Ekadashi is considered very fruitful for getting child happiness. The fast of this time is considered very special because many auspicious yogas are being made on Sawan Putrada Ekadashi. Shravan month Putrada Ekadashi Tithi will start from 7th August 2022 at 11:50 pm and Ekadashi Tithi will end on 8th August 2022 at 9:00 pm. According to Udaya date, this time Sawan Putrada Ekadashi fast is valid on 8 August 2022. Sawan Putrada Ekadashi and fourth Monday of Sawan fall on the same day. On this day a combination of Padma Yoga and Ravi Yoga is being made. According to astrology, observing Ekadashi fast with Sawan Monday will give double results. By the grace of Shiva and Vishnu, all the evils of the child are removed. Worshiping Vishnu in Padma Yoga gives freedom from sinful deeds. Ekadashi Tithi is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The fast of Putrada Ekadashi is kept in his name to get the happiness of children. On this day a childless couple should worship Lord Vishnu. In Brahmamuhurta, mixing sugar candy in milk in the return of silver and offering it in the root of Peepal will give birth to a worthy child.
