Srinagar, Demonstrations again took place on Saturday in protest against the continuous killing of Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir. On Saturday, the 10th day of the killing of Rahul Bhatt, who was killed in a terrorist attack, Kashmiri Pandits of Anantnag district demonstrated by shaving their heads. He prayed for the peace of Rahul Bhatt’s soul and also demanded security in the valley. The protesting Kashmiri Pandits also raised slogans against the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On the 10th day after the assassination of Rahul Bhatt, Kashmiri Pandits also said during the protest that the government should give them security or post them in Jammu. Keep in mind that since the assassination of Rahul Bhatt, there have been continuous protests in the Jammu and Kashmir Valley. On Saturday, in Mattan area of Anantnag district, Pandits raised slogans against the central government and asked why the central government and union territory administration were not creating a safe environment for Kashmiri Pandits.
The protesting people put the responsibility of killing Rahul Bhatt on the Budgam District Development Commission. Rahul Bhatt’s wife has claimed that her husband had sought posting near the house, but the District Development Commissioner did not pay any heed. They posted Rahul in a remote area, where he was murdered. The pundits who shaved their heads in protest against the government also sought help for the family of Rahul Bhatt.
He asked the government to make arrangements for concrete and permanent rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits and till then transfer all Kashmiri Pandits to Jammu. It is noteworthy that ten days ago, terrorists entered the Tehsildar office in Budgam and shot 35-year-old Rahul Bhatt, leading to his death. Rahul returned to Kashmir in 2010 as part of the Prime Minister’s Rehabilitation Package.
