There will be more than 200 meetings throughout the year

In addition, foreign diplomats, foreign officials based primarily in India and even foreign journalists based in India seek special permission to visit Jammu and Kashmir, posing a procedural challenge to the authorities. India will become the chairman of the G-20 group for the next one year from December and during this time 200 meetings will be hosted across the country, some of them in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Not only Kashmir but there are also many cultural and historical heritage sites included in UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Ajanta Caves in Maharashtra, Hampi in Karnataka and Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu where meetings can be held.

Over the next 12 months before the summit there will be more than 200 conferences, mainly at ministerial and official levels, and will include civil society teams, raise tanks, enterprises, media and other groups.

Addressing the conference organized in Dharamsala, Union Tourism Secretary Arvind Singh said that 215 meetings will be held at 55 places covering most of the states. These meetings will be held from January 1 next year to September 10, 2023.

The International Exhibition cum Convention Center at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi is expected to be ready for the summit early next year. Also, a beautification drive will be carried out in the national capital, especially in the vicinity of hotels, public places and roads leading to and from the international airport to the convention venue.

Bangladesh may get invitation

Officials said that during India’s G-20 presidency, about 250 cultural events will be organized besides important conferences for the delegates.

India will assume the presidency of the G-20 for the next 12 months from December 1, 2022 and may invite countries like Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, and Spain as guests for the summit. .
