Indian Railways is resorting to this system for allotment of confirmed seats that are canceled at the last minute.

Due to last-minute cancellation of tickets, waiting list people are inconvenienced in giving tickets, for this hand-held terminals are being used by the railways.

Everyone of us travels in the train. During this time it is very difficult to get a confirmed ticket in the train. The waiting list in trains is very long. However, some passengers cancel tickets at the last minute. In such a situation, the passengers on the waiting list also face difficulty in allotting such a seat. In such a situation, the Railways has taken the help of a tool that will give live information about those seats which have been booked but remain vacant at the last moment. So that such seats can be given to the passengers coming on the waiting list.

Let us tell you that hand-held terminal is being used by the railways to deal with this problem. For the last four months, with the help of this system, 7000 unconfirmed passengers are being allotted seats every day. This HHTS comes as a tiny device, about the size of an iPad. In which the reservation chart of the passengers has been given. Till now paper charts were used but now digital charts are being used for real time reservation information.

It is worth noting that the ticket staff will be able to get real-time updates of ticket booking and confirmed tickets. Since this passenger reservation system is connected to the Central Service. So now if a passenger cancels the booking at the last minute or does not confirm the booking then the vacant seat information can be viewed live on the HHT device. By doing this, the passengers who are in the voting list are allotted this vacant seat. Over seven thousand such seats have been allotted to passengers using this device in the last four months.
