From Taj Mahal to Gyanvapi or Mathura-Kashi, there is a case going on between two communities everywhere. In such a situation, once again another such case has come up from Karnataka. After which section 144 has been imposed from 8 am on Wednesday morning till a radius of 500 meters from Jumma Masjid in Malali, Mangaluru. Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed on this day at around 8.30 am at Sri Ramanjaneya Bhajan Temple in Thenkulipadi after a religious event called Tambula Prashan was organized. Since Hindu social organizations believe that the Juma Masjid was built on the site of the temple, the preparations for the ‘Ashtamangala Pranam’ started after the ‘Tambula Prasana’ ritual.

Karnataka Temple-Mosque Dispute : Let us tell you that during the renovation work being done by the mosque authorities at the Juma Masjid on the outskirts of Mangaluru city on April 22, it was said that an architectural design like a Hindu temple was found under the mosque. After this, Hindu organizations of the area claimed that there is every possibility of a temple at the site of the mosque. Meanwhile, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) appealed to the district administration to suspend the work in the mosque till the verification of documents. Here local MLA Bharat Shetty sought the intervention of the Archaeological Survey on the matter to ascertain whether there is a temple under the Juma Masjid.

Appeal to people to maintain peace…

Karnataka Temple-Mosque Dispute : A city court is hearing the case and has issued a temporary injunction on all stakeholders, including the mosque’s president. Here, the Masjid Management Committee claims that they have all the relevant documents and will present it before the court. Taking cognizance of the controversy, Deputy Commissioner KV Rajendra held a meeting with the officials and stakeholders on Tuesday and directed that the structure should be maintained till further orders. Along with this, the administration is also examining the land records and has appealed to the people to maintain peace.
