Criticism of BJP government over hate speech: Gehlot

Jaipur. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has welcomed the directions given by the Supreme Court to the Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi governments to take strict action on hate speech, saying that if the BJP governments did hate speech speech), the court would not have needed to say so.

Shri Gehlot said this through social media here today. He said that the directions given by the Supreme Court to the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi for strict action on hate speech are welcome.

He said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had started the Bharat Jodo Yatra in protest against the rising inflation, unemployment, hatred and violence in the country. In many states, it has become such a situation that criticizing the government has become a crime. Seeing the success of Bharat Jodo Yatra, even the statements of BJP-RSS leaders have started changing.

The Chief Minister said that the atmosphere of the country has changed so much in just one month of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. I am sure that by the time this yatra ends, there will be a change in the atmosphere of violence and tension in the country.

It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court has directed the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Uttarakhand to take strict action on their own cognizance of hate statements. (talk))
