Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday alleged that urban Naxals with political backing or Urban Naxals And anti-development elements blocked the construction of the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the Narmada river in Gujarat for many years, claiming that it would harm the environment. Prime minister Narendra Modi Said this after inaugurating the two-day national conference of state environment ministers through video conference on Friday i.e. today at Ekta Nagar in Narmada district of Gujarat.

PM Modi said, politically-backed urban naxalites and anti-development elements put on hold the construction of Sardar Sarovar Dam on the Narmada river in Gujarat for many years, claiming that it would harm the environment. Due to this delay a huge amount of money was lost. Now that the dam is ready, you can see how hollow their claims were.’

Some political camps often use the term Urban Naxal (Urban Naxal) to refer to the sympathizers of Naxalism as well as some social workers. The Prime Minister said, these urban Naxalites are still active. I request you not to stop the projects that make business easy or make life easier in the name of environment. We should have a balanced approach to deal with the conspiracy of such people.

There will be six thematic sessions in the two day conference held at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat. These include topics such as life, challenges of climate change, environment planning for single window evacuation facility for environmental projects, forest management, pollution control and prevention, wildlife management and plastic and waste management.

According to the PMO, the Center will focus on issues such as the elimination of plastic pollution through a multi-pronged approach and action plans of the states to effectively meet the challenge of climate change keeping in mind the Lifestyle for Environment (LIFE), taking forward the spirit of cooperative federalism. And to create more coordination between the state governments, this conference is being organized on 23rd and 24th September. (also from input language)
