‘RaGa’s appearance is like Saddam Hussain’, Congress furious over Assam CM’s statement, retaliated

Ahmedabad. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi looks like former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussain and it would have been better if he had impersonated Sardar Patel, Jawaharlal Nehru or Mahatma Gandhi.

Hitting back at Himanta Biswa Sarma, senior Congress leader Manish Tiwari said that one should take care of the decorum of language while speaking. Rahul Gandhi is seen sporting a full beard during Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Himanta Biswa Sarma said in a public meeting in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, I saw recently that his (Rahul’s) appearance has changed. I had said in a TV interview a few days ago that there is nothing wrong with his new look. But if you have to change the look, at least make it like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel or Jawaharlal Nehru. It would have been better if he had looked like Gandhiji. But why are you making your face like Saddam Hussein?

He claimed that this is the reason why the Congress culture does not match with the Indian people. Sharma said that their culture is close to those who have never understood India. Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that Rahul Gandhi did not visit Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat where elections have been held or are being held during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

He said that instead of these states, Rahul Gandhi is focusing on those states where there are no elections because he knows that wherever he goes, he will lose. The Assam chief minister said he saw Narmada Bachao Andolan activist Medha Patkar with Rahul Gandhi at the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Maharashtra.

They had conspired to deprive Gujarat of water, he claimed. Had she been successful, the Narmada water would never have reached Kutch. Rahul Gandhi is doing Bharat Jodo Yatra with such people who never wanted development of Gujarat.

Congress leader Manish Tiwari said in a press conference on Wednesday, I do not want to glorify that attack with my reaction. I believe it is very important that we maintain the decorum of language in public. Unfortunately, the Chief Minister of Assam looks like a petty troll when he makes such statements.
