In the UP Election 2022, BJP has given a big responsibility to Keshav Prasad Maurya to help the backwards. After Swami Prasad Maurya, Dara Singh Chauhan left the party, the responsibility of Keshav Prasad Maurya has also increased.
The bugle has been sounded for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. All the parties are engaged in making caste equations, because it seems impossible to reach power in Uttar Pradesh without caste equations. All the parties make their own caste equations and try to reach the threshold of power. Politically backward population is very important in Uttar Pradesh because only the parties which get the support of backward population are successful in reaching power.
From the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP changed the non-Jatav Dalit and non-Yadav OBC equation and won a landslide victory in Uttar Pradesh. Since 2014, BJP has given important place and responsibility to the leaders of backward society in the organization. One of those leaders is Keshav Prasad Maurya. Presently Keshav Prasad Maurya is a big face in the politics of Uttar Pradesh.
Keshav Prasad Maurya represents the backward caste in Uttar Pradesh and the credit for connecting the backwards with the BJP also goes to him. Keshav comes from the Maurya community, whose population is about 4 percent in Uttar Pradesh. But in about 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh, this population becomes 12 to 15 percent and proves to be very decisive from the point of view of elections.
Lotus was fed in Sirathu for the first time: Keshav Prasad Maurya won the 2012 assembly election from Sirathu assembly and fed lotus for the first time in Sirathu assembly. After that in 2014, he was given ticket by BJP from Phulpur Lok Sabha and for the first time he won the party from Phulpur Lok Sabha. In 2016, BJP made him the state president to serve the backward society and Keshav Prasad Maurya’s popularity also increased among the workers and backward society.
Keshav Prasad Maurya worked hard to make BJP win and in the 2017 assembly elections, BJP formed the government by getting a huge majority. Let us tell you that in the 2017 assembly elections, backward communities had openly voted for BJP.
In 2017 the name was revealed for CM: When the BJP government was formed in 2017, Keshav Prasad Maurya’s name had also run for the post of Chief Minister. But at the last moment, the name of Yogi Adityanath came up and the party made him the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Many times there were also reports that Keshav Prasad Maurya and Yogi Adityanath did not get along. In a conversation with the media, Keshav Prasad Maurya himself had said that the election is being fought on the lotus symbol. This adds to the rumors that Keshav Prasad Maurya does not agree on the name of Yogi Adityanath. However, from time to time both the leaders have also denied these reports.
Backward leaders left BJP: Before the 2017 assembly elections, BJP had included some other leaders like Swami Prasad Maurya, Dharam Singh Saini in the BJP. These leaders also came from backward society. BJP has been successful in giving the message that only BJP can do the interest of the backward. But before the 2022 elections, many leaders including Swami Prasad Maurya, Dara Singh Chauhan, Dharam Singh Saini, left the party and accused the BJP that BJP does not want the interest of the backward society. All the leaders who left the BJP joined the Samajwadi Party and all talked about making Akhilesh Yadav the Chief Minister.
Increased importance of Keshav Prasad Maurya: Before the upcoming 2022 elections, when backward leaders from BJP have resigned, the importance of Keshav Prasad Maurya has also increased a lot in the party. The party has given the responsibility of cultivating the backwards to Keshav Prasad Maurya. If the backward society distances itself from the BJP, then it will be very difficult for the BJP to come to the government in 2022. In this context, the responsibility of helping the backwards is most important for the BJP. In this episode, BJP has given this important responsibility to Keshav Prasad Maurya. Let us tell you that about 51% of the population in UP belongs to backward society and in the 2014, 2017 and 2019 elections, BJP got full support of this society.
Keshav’s name among possible CM candidates: Presently BJP has not declared any CM face for Uttar Pradesh 2022 elections. The party is fighting the elections on the issues of work done since 2017 till now. From time to time, Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah keep patting the back of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and keep praising him. But till now BJP has not officially announced the name of anyone for the post of Chief Minister. Hence the supporters of Keshav Prasad Maurya believe that the name of Keshav Prasad Maurya has not been completely outed as the CM face.
