IPL 2022: 590 cricketers auctioned in mega auction, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan top draw

The final list of cricketers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction is finally out with a total of 590 players. The two-day mega auction will be held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. This will be the 15th season of IPL and some of the biggest stars of world cricket will come together to light up the prestigious tournament. Of the 590 players registered for the auction, 228 are capped players, 355 are uncapped players and 7 are from Associate Nations. To enlist the services of players like Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, R Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, the services of some of the finest Indian cricketing talent have been read, read a statement from the IPL. 34 players in the list of cricketers with a reserve price of Rs 1 crore

10 IPL franchises – Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Team Ahmedabad will also bid for some of the biggest cricketing names. Faf du Plessis, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult, Quinton de Kock, Jonny Bairstow, Jason Holder, Dwayne Bravo, Shakib Al Hasan to Wanindu Hasaranga are included in their team. Rs 2 crore is the highest reserve price and 48 players have chosen to place themselves in this category. There are 20 players in the auction list with a reserve price of Rs 1.5 crore while 34 players are in the list of cricketers with a reserve price of Rs 1 crore.

IPL has always been a tournament where talent and opportunity co-exist and India’s Under 19 stars like Yash Dhull, Vicky Ostwal, Rajvardhan Hangargekar and some of the most celebrated Indian cricketers like Devdutt Padikkal, Harshal Patel, Kunal Pandya, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepak Hooda and Avesh Khan will try to cash in and make a mark during the auction and then in the competition.
