The way central agencies are laying siege to the Soren family in Jharkhand, Lalu Prasad’s family is being laid siege in Bihar. Lalu Prasad’s troubles in the fodder scam seemed to be ending, so now the entire family has been entangled in the alleged scam of job for land. The disproportionate assets case is also pending against almost all the members of the family. The latest case is of land for job, which is from the time of Lalu Prasad as Railway Minister i.e. before 2009. Central agencies have started action in this matter after a decade and a half.
The CBI had registered a case in May this year in the case of giving jobs in lieu of land. Since then, the names of about one and a half dozen people have come in it. Along with many railway officials, the names of Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti and Hima Yadav are also in it. Bhola Yadav, who was a close aide of Lalu Prasad in the same case, has been arrested and the CBI is interrogating Tejashwi Yadav’s close aide Sanjay Yadav. The sword is also hanging over Tejashwi Yadav in a case of IRCTC, a railway related company. If the agency has arrested one accused in this case, then naturally the sword of arrest is hanging on the rest of the accused as well.
