Navi Mumbai. The Indian women’s cricket team will learn from its mistakes in the decisive third T20 match on Thursday to respond to the aggressive game of West Indies, while the playing of regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur is not yet decided. India won the first match by 49 runs but West Indies defeated them by nine wickets in the second match to level the series. West Indies won with 26 balls and nine wickets remaining and hit 27 fours and two sixes in their innings. None of the Indian bowlers could challenge the Caribbean batsmen and dew made the task more difficult.

West Indies took full advantage of the situation and batted aggressively. The situation is not going to change much in a day but India will definitely have to improve its batting and bowling. Harmanpreet did not come to field in the first match and could not play the second match due to a knee injury. If Harmanpreet, who has scored two half-centuries in the last three T20 matches, does not play, then India will miss her experience.

Acting captain Smriti Mandhana tried to give India a good score by scoring her second half-century in the series but she could not get support from the rest of the batsmen. The West Indies bowlers performed very disciplined and did not give any chance to the batsmen. Except Smriti and Richa Ghosh (32), no Indian batsman could play bravely. In the absence of Harmanpreet, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma will have additional responsibility while Raghavi Bisht, at number four, made her debut in the second match. India will also have to be wary of West Indies’ experienced Deandra Dottin who is in good form. Apart from these, the bats of Haley Mathews and Kianna Joseph will have to be controlled.
