India: Nepalese Airlines plane became contactless, 22 people including 4 Indians were on board

According to an official, the plane had once returned from Dhaulagiri Himalayas and has not been in contact since then.

A major plane crash is being feared in Nepal. Nepal’s Tara Air has lost contact with the airport. A total of 22 people including the crew were on board the plane. The flight was going from Pokhara to Jomsom. The aircraft took off from Pokhara at 9:55 am today. It was supposed to land at 10.20 pm. But since 11 pm, the aircraft has not been contacted yet. It is a two engine aircraft.

There are 4 Indians and 3 Japanese nationals in the plane. The rest are from Nepal. It is being told that 22 passengers including the crew were on board the plane. Tara Air spokesperson Sudarshan Bartaula said Captain Prabhakar Prasad Ghimire, co-pilot Utsav Pokharel and air hostess Kismi Thapa were on board the aircraft.

Pokhara Airport President Vikram Raj Gautam has confirmed that the plane has lost contact with the tower. According to an official, the aircraft had once returned from Dhaulagiri Himalayas and has not been in contact since then.

Nepali Interior Ministry spokesman Fadendra Mani Pokharel said two private helicopters have been deployed in Mustang and Pokhara to search for the missing plane. Preparations are also being made to deploy helicopters of Nepal Army for search.

Nepal Army spokesman Narayan Silwal said that a Mi-17 helicopter of the Nepal Army has left for the Mustang. The helicopter will search for the missing plane.
