Ind vs NZ: Indian spinners will be seen in Green Park! Curator gave this statement
Ind vs NZ, First Test Match: Shiv Kumar, the local curator of the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, which hosted the first Test match between India and New Zealand, says that the pitch of this ground does not have grass but the chances of it breaking (more cracking) are very less. . In the past several times the team management has given instructions to prepare some specific type of pitch, but Kumar said that this time neither coach Rahul Dravid nor captain Ajinkya Rahane had any specific demand.
Kumar, who has been working in this ground for the last two decades, said that we have not received any instruction from the BCCI, nor has anyone contacted me from the team management to make a pitch completely supportive of spinners. I have prepared a pitch keeping in mind the good pitch.
‘There will be some moisture in the pitch’
Shiv Kumar said that it is the month of November and there will be some moisture in the pitch at this time in this part of the world. I can assure you that this pitch will not break soon. India and New Zealand’s Test match played in Kanpur in 2016 lasted till the fifth day, but for some time most of the foreign teams are kneeling in spinner-friendly pitches within three days.
When asked about the completion of matches within three days, Kumar said that it is not only the pitches responsible for this. Due to T20 cricket, the way the batsmen play the spinners is also a reason.
