Bollywood: Censor board angry on Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Girl’, many scenes cut – dialogues

Even after so many cuts, the film was given only adult certificate.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s film Ladki has been strongly angered by the Censor Board for making indecent remarks on BJP’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. The film, made in the name of promoting martial arts, has been ordered to be removed by the Censor Board after receiving many objectionable scenes and dialogues.

According to informed sources, the film Ladki had several dialogues in which women were portrayed as objects of consumption and the dignity of women was hurt. Apart from this, abusive language has also been used openly in the film. Not only this, the film also has dialogues glorifying rape and forcing the wife to have an extramarital affair. All this was also taken out in the film by the censors. Censor has ordered deletion of many scenes of this film.

Sanskrit verses have also been used at one place in the film, but due to wrong context and wrong usage, it has also been removed from the film. The members of the censor felt that these verses were used in the wrong context and could hurt the religious sentiments of the people. However, even after so many cuts, the film has been given only adult certificate.
