In ‘Jahan Chaar Yaar’, I have played the character of Shivangi, a submissive type of woman’ – Swara Bhaskar

Experience shooting for the film ‘Jahan Chaar Yaar’?

Have a great experience. The story and character were my favorite. I had good tuning with director Kamal Pandey. I have a lot of respect and respect for Kamal ji. He is a talented writer, director and a good human being. I can’t believe that a man can weave the experience of married women into the fabric of a story so beautifully, so sympathetically, capturing so many nuances about women.

What is the status of women empowerment in Bollywood?
Very good. I always say that Bollywood is the mirror of society. The status of women in the society is the same in Bollywood. The more progress women will make in the society, the same will happen in Bollywood too. The more harm will be done to the women in the society, the more will be the loss of the women in Bollywood.

You have your own thoughts and ideas. So what are the things you keep in mind while signing films?

I always choose strong characters. See, breaking stereotypes is a part of my acting career. I am never afraid to take risks while playing characters. When I entered the film industry, I was unfamiliar with the working style of the film industry. People forbade me to play the role of sister or best friend of heroine. But I have reached here by playing the character of Payal, the friend of the heroine in ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. My thought behind doing ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ was that if these are the rules for getting a lead role, why not break them? Why not get rid of the stereotype to set your own rules? I enjoy doing unheard and refreshing stories. I choose characters which are challenging to play and give a new dose of entertainment to the audience.

These days the Boycott Bollywood campaign is going on?

It’s all rubbish. Everyone has come to know the truth. Everyone knows that money is given to run such a campaign. It is being done only under the boycott agenda. This is not the voice of the people. If there is power in the story of the film, then the audience goes to see it.

What are you doing apart from this film?

After this I am going to start shooting for director Manish’s film ‘Mrs Falani’. Anthology is. There are nine short stories in it. The main character in every story is a woman, which I am playing. It is very interesting. Once again I am doing a character which I have not done before. I have written two scripts myself. is a love story. I have been writing a script for six years, which you have heard. I have been writing for the second two to three years. Now I want to make a film on these scripts, in which I would like to act myself. I don’t want to direct. I am engaged in this struggle.

Why not direct? People believe that the character and the atmosphere settles in the mind of the writer while writing. So it becomes easier for him to direct?

I don’t consider myself ready to direct. I think I don’t have the vision that a director has. The director has to be more than the artist. I might think of directing in future. Then I still have a lot to do in the field of acting. But now I have to learn direction.
