Congress Keeping in mind the election of the post of President, Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot had called a meeting of state Congress MLAs. Gehlot had called the MLAs at his residence and discussed about his name in national politics. CM Gehlot told the MLAs that he would still try to persuade Rahul Gandhi for the election of the President. He said that if Rahul Gandhi does not agree then he will file his nomination. Ashok Gehlot has agreed with many conditions in front of the High Command to become the President.
In the meeting with the MLAs, Ashok Gehlot has also said that whatever happens, he will not leave Rajasthan. He said that along with the president, he can also remain the CM. The MLAs who attended the meeting also want Gehlot to remain the Chief Minister of the state. In the meeting, the MLAs also made this appeal to him. It is noteworthy that Ashok Gehlot has put a condition in front of the party high command that even if he becomes the president, he will not vacate the chair of the state and will also remain the chief minister. He has also put a condition that even if this does not happen, then he will hand over the chair of CM to any of his favorite.
However, these conditions of Ashok Gehlot have put the Congress High Command in tension. After these conditions of Gehlot, there is a possibility of a split in the state Congress. Rahul Gandhi is leading the Bharat Jodo Yatra and he is currently in Kerala. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, former Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot was in Delhi. Pilot had hoped that if Gehlot gets a new responsibility, he might get the CM’s chair. Pilot’s supporters were also hoping for the same, but Gehlot’s conditions put a halt to all possibilities.
