‘Hybrid terrorist’ arrested in Reasi

Jammu. Security forces on Thursday claimed to have foiled a major terrorist attack by arresting a ‘hybrid terrorist’ in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police gave this information. He said the security forces have recovered arms, ammunition and Rs 1,81,000 in cash from the hideout of the terrorist, which was to be used for terrorist activities.
Police said that the arrested hybrid terrorist has been identified as Zafar Iqbal, a resident of Bal-Angrala. He is the brother of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Mohammad Isaac, who was killed in an encounter with security forces in Rajouri district. Hybrid terrorists are unlisted radicals who, after carrying out terrorist attacks, return to normal life.
Police said that Mahor police station had received information that Zafar Iqbal was in touch with terrorist masters sitting in Pakistan. Based on this information, teams of police, Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force launched a joint operation in Angrala forest. During the operation, two pistols, four magazines, 22 live cartridges and one grenade were recovered from a hideout in the area. Later, Rs 1,81,000 was recovered, which was to be used for terrorist activities.
The joint team arrested the hybrid terrorist Iqbal from Plasu Nallah. During interrogation he confessed that he was in contact with terrorist groups. Reasi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amit Gupta said that Iqbal’s arrest is a big success. Gupta said that the masters of the terrorists sitting in Pakistan are making constant efforts to revive terrorism in the highlands of Reasi and people like Iqbal are working for them. (Language)
