Controversy in Delhi over Gopal Italia

New Delhi, A big controversy erupted in Delhi on Thursday over Gopal Italia, the state convener of Aam Aadmi Party’s Gujarat. Italia, who reached the Commission’s office in response to a notice given by the National Commission for Women, was alleged by Commission’s Chairperson Rekha Sharma that they had reached there with a large number of supporters and created a ruckus. The chairperson of the Women’s Commission called the police and the police took Italia away. After keeping them in the police station for three hours, the police let them go.

Gopal Italia was kept at Okhla police station in South-East district. He was taken into custody by Delhi Police on Thursday afternoon itself. Italia was taken into custody when he reached the commission’s office on the summons of the National Commission for Women. Italia says they didn’t create a ruckus. On the contrary, he accused the chairperson of the women’s commission of misbehavior. Describing himself as a descendant of Sardar Patel, he also said that he is not afraid of going to jail.

In fact, in the past, Gopal Italia had made derogatory remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and called him a lowly person. The commission had sent him a notice regarding this. Gopal Italia reached the commission’s office to answer this. Aam Aadmi Party workers had also arrived with them and were protesting outside the commission’s office. Delhi Police had detained Gopal from there.
