PM Modi’s big Diwali gift to farmers

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the two-day ‘PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022’ at the Pusa Mela Ground of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute here and the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Under the scheme, 12th installment of 16 thousand crore rupees was released.

Modi had released Rs 21,000 crore as the 11th installment of Kisan Samman Nidhi in Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla in May on the occasion of the eighth anniversary of his government. Modi also inaugurated the Agri Startup Conclave and Exhibition on the occasion. Apart from this, he also inaugurated 600 PM-Kisan Samridhi Kendras (PM-KSKs) under the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers and also launched an important scheme named ‘One Nation-One Fertilizer’ for farmers under the brand name ‘Bharat’ Urea Bag . On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi will address crores of farmers, agriculture startups, researchers, policy-makers, bankers, other stakeholders.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, more than one crore farmers are participating in this event through digital medium. It is to be known that it has been eight years since this scheme started to help the medium and small farmers in the country and crores of farmers in the country have got its benefits. The Central Government had launched the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on 24 February 2019.

Under this scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year is provided to the eligible beneficiary farmer families. It is payable in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each every four months. Funds are directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. (Language)
