High court reprimanded, security will be restored

During the hearing on the petition of former minister OP Soni, who reached the High Court in this matter, the Bhagwant Mann government of the state said in the High Court that the security of all 424 people would be restored on June 7. Security was cut in view of Ghallughara Day. Ghallughara Day is on June 6 and security will be returned on June 7 as per the old system. The High Court asked the Punjab government’s counsel that why was the cut in the security cover given to the people given? Was there a specific reason?

Responding to the court’s question, the government’s counsel said that the anniversary of Operation Blue Star is on June 6. This required additional force, due to which the security of 424 people was temporarily cut. The government’s counsel said that everyone’s withdrawn security is being restored on June 7. During the hearing, the High Court said that those whose security has been withdrawn, give them two security guards, if anyone feels that he needs more security guards, then he should bear their expenses.

The high court also took note of the leak of their names on social media after the Punjab government withdrew the protection of VVIPs. The High Court asked the government’s counsel that how the list of people whose security was reduced or withdrawn, how was the list leaked? Significantly, on Saturday, the Punjab government had cut the security of 424 people. Since then questions were being raised on this decision. It was being asked how the government withdrew the security without assessing the threat.
