Hearing started in Jharkhand elections in 2010 horse trading case, the court gave this direction

Ranchi. In the case of alleged horse trading in the Rajya Sabha elections 2010 in Jharkhand, the hearing was held on Saturday in a special CBI court in Ranchi. During the hearing, the court was informed by Barhi MLA Umashankar Akela, then MLA Rajesh Ranjan and former minister Yogendra Saw that many documents related to this case have not been given to them by the CBI. On this basis, he urged the court to extend the date of the charge frame. Accepting this request, the court directed the CBI to hand over the documents to all the accused.

Earlier, during the last hearing, the court had fixed the date for framing of charges on Saturday, but today the charge frame could not be held. Significantly, after the case of alleged horse trading came to light in the 2010 Rajya Sabha elections, the CBI had started the investigation on the orders of the High Court. After investigation, the charge sheet was filed by the court in 2013. A private TV channel had exposed the money transactions in the election by conducting a sting operation, in which the MLAs of different parties demanded Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore from the candidate in exchange for votes. . After the matter came to light, an FIR was lodged at the first surveillance station. Later, after the order of the High Court, the CBI took over the case.
