GST crosses Rs 1 lakh crore for the third consecutive month, collections of Rs 1.17 lakh crore in September

New Delhi: The Finance Ministry said on Friday that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection in India stood at Rs 1.17 lakh crore in September. This figure released by the government is more than one lakh crore rupees for the third consecutive month. According to the data of the Ministry of Finance, the revenue collection of September 2021 is 23 percent more than the collection of September 2020. “Gross GST revenue accumulated in September 2021 is Rs 1,17,010 crore, including CGST Rs 20,578 crore, SGST Rs 26,767 crore, IGST Rs 60,911 crore (including Rs 29,555 crore collected on import of goods),” the Finance Ministry said in a statement. and cess is Rs.8,754 crore (including Rs.623 crore deposited on import of goods).”
CGST stands for Central Goods and Services Tax, SGST stands for State Goods and Services Tax and IGST stands for Integrated Goods and Services Tax. Revenue from import of goods was up 30 per cent during September and revenue from domestic transactions (including import of services) was up 20 per cent over the same month of the previous year.
GST status in August
Earlier in the month of August this year, the collection of gross GST revenue was Rs 1,12,020 crore. In this, CGST was Rs 20,522 crore while SGST was about Rs 26,605 crore. Whereas IGST was Rs 56,247 crore and Cess share was around Rs 8,646 crore.
