Governor took back the order
The governor on Thursday withdrew the previous order canceling the special session, saying legal opinion was sought after the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) approached the Raj Bhavan and it was not allowed as per the rules of the House. Punjab Chief Minister Mann and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal criticized the decision.
BJP accused of buying MLA
The AAP government had demanded cancellation of the special session to bring the confidence motion. A few days before this, AAP had accused the BJP of trying to topple its government. The party had recently claimed that the BJP had approached at least 10 of its MLAs and offered them Rs 25 crore as part of its Operation Lotus to topple its six-month-old government.
