Government seeks Parliament’s approval for additional expenditure of Rs 3.25 lakh crore for the current financial year

New Delhi. The government on Friday sought Parliament’s approval for additional expenditure of Rs 3.25 lakh crore as part of the supplementary demand for grants for the current financial year.

In the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chowdhary presented a statement showing the first batch of supplementary demands for grants for the year 2022-23.

Approval has been sought for gross additional expenditure of Rs 4.36 lakh crore in the first batch of supplementary demands for grants for the year 2022-23 in the lower house.

Out of this, Rs 3.25 lakh crore is in the form of cash net expenditure, while a provision of Rs 1.10 lakh crore will be made through savings and increased receipts or recoveries of various ministries and departments.
