Gotabaya will remove brother from the post of PM

Colombo, Sri Lanka’s President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, facing severe economic crisis, has agreed to remove his brother Mahinda Rajapaksa from the post of Prime Minister. It is being told that soon a new interim government will be formed in Sri Lanka. With the removal of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, the resignation of the entire cabinet will also be taken. Former Prime Minister Maithripala Sirisena has given information about this after talks with President Gotabaya.

However, it is not clear when the Prime Minister and the cabinet will resign and when the new government will be formed. Meanwhile, protests against the government continue in Sri Lanka. Significantly, Sri Lanka is going through the worst economic phase in its history and the country has reached the verge of financial bankruptcy. Demonstrations are taking place in the country. Opposition parties are also not ready to help the government. Their demand is that first the cabinet should resign and after that elections should be held by forming an interim government in the country.

Meanwhile, on Friday afternoon, main opposition leader Maithripala Sirisena called on the President. Shortly after this, Sirisena said- President Gotabaya has agreed to remove the Prime Minister and the entire cabinet. Sirisena said- soon an interim government will be formed. There will be a new Prime Minister and a new cabinet. They will take tough decisions to get the country out of trouble. He said- We do not want the public to be burdened any more. Will find a way for this. The new cabinet will be approved by Parliament.
