If you also travel from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport, then this news can be useful for you. Delhi airport has introduced RFID technology based tags for passengers, which will make it easier for passengers to monitor their baggage. The facility has now been commissioned at Terminal 3 on a pilot basis and will soon be commercially launched, the statement said.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the tag based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology will help passengers know when and on which belt their luggage is arriving at the terminal. GMR Group-led DIAL said Delhi airport is the first airport in India to offer this facility.

This process has to be followed

  1. Passengers will be able to buy this tag at the Delhi airport.
  2. They have to scan the QR code given on it
  3. Registration has to be done on the website ‘bag.hoi.in’.
  4. After the tag is registered, passengers will have to tie it in their bag
  5. Travelers can keep this RFID inside their bags as well.
  6. On arrival of luggage, passengers will get information through SMS on the mobile number
