Gold futures soften
In the futures market, gold prices are trading in red on Tuesday. However, gold is at a one-month high globally. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold October futures fell by Rs 96, or 0.2 per cent, to Rs 51,530 per 10 grams. Silver September futures fell by Rs 256, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 58,070 per kg.
Gold jumps in global market
Globally, the yellow metal rose to a four-week high as a weaker dollar and a fall in the US Treasury yield boosted demand for the safe-haven metal amid rising concerns over an economic slowdown. Spot gold rose 0.4 per cent to $1,778.69 an ounce, its highest level since July 5. US gold futures rose 0.2 per cent to $1,791.10 an ounce.
