Get PAN-Aadhaar link before this date, otherwise fine will have to be paid

Aadhar-PAN Link: Have you linked your Aadhar Card with PAN Card till now? If you have not done so, do it immediately or else your problems may increase. The government has extended the dates for linking Aadhaar card with PAN card several times in the past. And once again its deadline has been extended to 31 March 2022. That is, by 31 March 2022, you must link Aadhaar and PAN card.

Linking Aadhar and PAN card after the last date will attract a fine of Rs 10,000. And if you used an inactive PAN card, then in that case you may have to pay a fine of up to 10 thousand rupees.

If you have an inactive PAN card, you will not be able to do things like opening mutual funds, demat account, bank account, because PAN card is necessary for all these. If the PAN card is locked due to non-linking of Aadhar card and PAN card, then you will not be able to take advantage of any such facility where PAN card is mandatory. Open the Income Tax e-filing portal https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/.

Register on it (if not already done).

Your PAN (Permanent Account Number) will be your User ID.

Log in by entering User ID, Password and Date of Birth.

A pop up window will open asking you to link your PAN with Aadhaar.

If the pop up window does not open then go to ‘Profile Settings’ on the menu bar and click on ‘Link Aadhaar’.

As per the PAN, the details like name, date of birth and gender will be mentioned there already.

Verify your Aadhaar and PAN card details.

If the details match, enter your Aadhaar number and click on the “Link Now” button.

A pop-up message will inform you that your Aadhaar has been successfully linked with your PAN.
