Udaipur, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot met the relatives of Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor who was killed in Udaipur. He assured all possible help to the family members. He also said that his government is committed to bring the accused to justice at the earliest. Significantly, on Tuesday, Kanhaiya Lal was murdered by slitting his throat. The killers made a video of the slitting of the throat and also made it public on social media. He killed Kanhaiya Lal for supporting Nupur Sharma’s statement on Prophet Mohammad. Both the killers have been arrested.
However, after meeting Kanhaiya Lal’s family members, Gehlot told the media – NIA should get the punishment quickly in this case within a month. NIA should understand what is the sentiment of the people of the state? Whether security was given to Kanhaiya or not, what was lacking, everything will come out in the investigation of NIA. He said- NIA’s investigation should be trusted, the investigation will be fair, we will cooperate fully. This incident has shaken the country.
Harsh Sahu, son of slain tailor Kanhaiya Lal, said that the Chief Minister assured that these people were to be hanged. He has also given assurance of giving a government job to a dependent. Harsh said- Now there is no fear in our mind, all the people are together. Harsh told that the Chief Minister told him that I am with you, you can come and meet him at any time.
Meanwhile, a silent procession was taken out by the Sarva Samaj on Thursday in protest against the Kanhaiya Lal murder case in Udaipur. Thousands of people participated in the procession. The procession started from the town hall and reached the collector’s office. It is being told that while returning from there, some youths threw stones at the Delhi Gate intersection. During this, the police chased away with sticks. On the other hand, many organizations had called for a bandh in many cities of Rajasthan.
