Gang rape of mother and daughter in moving car

Roorkee, A case of alleged gang-rape of a six-year-old girl and her mother in a moving car in Haridwar’s Roorkee has come to light. The police have started searching for the accused by registering a case against one named accused and others. The shameful incident of raping an innocent girl and her mother is from Roorkee. A woman from Piran Kaliyar, a Muslim pilgrimage site near Roorkee, was on her way to Roorkee during the night with her six-year-old daughter.

According to Superintendent of Police (countryside) Pramendra Doval, on the way, a young man riding a car made him sit in his car on the pretext of giving him a lift. Doval said that some other youths were already sitting in the car.

According to the complaint, a young man named Sonu, who was riding in the car, and his accomplices raped the mother and daughter in the moving car itself. The woman continued to oppose the youths, but the youths threatened her and silenced her and after the rape, left her on the Kanvad track on the banks of the Ganges canal.

The woman somehow reached the kotwali in the middle of the night and narrated the past to the police. In the information given to the police, the victim could not tell the number of youths in the car, but she named the car driver as Sonu. Seeing the poor condition of the girl, the police admitted both of them to Roorkee Civil Hospital. Medical examination at the hospital confirmed rape of both of them. The police have started searching for the accused after registering a case of rape. So far no trace of the accused has been found.
