Srinagar. Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday arrested a terrorist of banned organization Hizbul Mujahideen with arms and ammunition in Awantipora. Police sources said that on the basis of intelligence inputs, a joint team of Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and police had set up a check post in Chandrigam area.
Meanwhile, a person roaming there under suspicious circumstances was arrested. During the search, a pistol and magazine were recovered from him. The accused has been identified as Danish Mohideen Ghani, a resident of Dadsara Awantipora in Pulwama district. During preliminary interrogation, the accused admitted that he is associated with Hizbul Mujahideen and is active since September 2022. A case has been registered against him under various sections at Awantipora police station. Advance investigation and inquiry is on. (talk)
