Former Union Minister Salman Khan’s son-in-law Pandit Sukhram dies, grandson gave information on social media

New Delhi | Pandit Sukhram Passed Away : Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Pandit Sukhram has passed away. Sukhram was 94 years old and was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the capital Delhi from May 7. Sukhram was a Congress leader from Himachal, his grandson Ashray Sharma informed about the death of the former Union minister on the social media platform Facebook on Tuesday night. However, he did not give information about when Sukhram died. Aashray also shared a childhood picture with Sukhram. Another grandson of Sukhram, Aayush Sharma is an actor and he is married to Arpita Khan, sister of Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

Pandit Sukhram Passed Away : Sukh Ram had a brain hemorrhage on 4 May in Manali. After this he was admitted to a regional hospital in Mandi, from where he was brought to AIIMS in Delhi on Saturday for better treatment. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur had provided a state helicopter to take Sukh Ram to Delhi on 7 May. Sukh Ram was the Union Minister of State for Communications (Independent Charge) from 1993 to 1996. He was a member of the Lok Sabha from the Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh. Sukhram had won five times in the assembly elections and three times in the Lok Sabha elections. He was sentenced to five years imprisonment in a corruption case in 2011. This case was in 1996, when he was the Minister of Communications.

Pandit Sukhram Passed Away : Please tell that Sukhram’s son Anil Sharma is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Mandi. Sukhram represented the Mandi assembly seat from 1963 to 1984. During his tenure as Minister of Animal Husbandry in Himachal Pradesh, he brought cows from Germany, which increased the income of the farmers of the state. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1984 and served as a junior minister in the government led by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Sukhram also served as the Minister of State for Defense Production and Supplies, Planning and Food and Civil Supplies. Sukhram also won the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in 1996, but he and his son were expelled by the Congress after the telecom scam surfaced. After this, he formed the ‘Himachal Vikas Congress Party’ and after the elections joined the government in alliance with the BJP. Sukhram along with his son Anil Sharma and grandson Aashray Sharma had joined the BJP ahead of the 2017 assembly elections. However, he and his grandson again joined the Congress in order to get a ticket for their grandson Aashray Sharma ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
