Team India: The first match of the three-match Test series between India (IND) and South Africa (SA) is being played at Centurion. Winning the toss on the first day, India scored 272 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, while the second day was washed out due to rain. It rained intermittently throughout the day, due to which the second day’s play had to be cancelled. On the first day, the Indian team’s openers Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul were buoyed. Mayank played a brilliant innings of 60 runs, while Rahul remained unbeaten on 122. In this match, Cheteshwar Pujara was dismissed without opening an account and captain Virat Kohli could contribute only 35 runs.

Former batsman coach said this about Kohli

There is a lot of discussion going on in the cricket world about the dismissal of Virat Kohli. Actually Virat Kohli has not scored a century in any format of cricket after 2019 so far. In the first innings against South Africa, he looked in good rhythm, but suddenly returned to the pavilion after being caught at slips. Former batting coach Sanjay Bangar has given a big statement about Kohli’s form. He has also told why Kohli is flopping.

Sanjay Bangar said during a conversation with a sports channel that the Indian captain prefers to play on the front foot. However, on South African pitches, you cannot rely only on the front foot. Bangar believes that Virat Kohli needs to go on the back foot and play. If Kohli does this then he can be successful in making big scores. The former coach said that when you depend more on the front foot, the bowler likes to play you outside and the ball takes the outside edge and goes to the slip or wicketkeeper. In this case the batsman loses his wicket.

Virat Kohli last scored a century in the year 2019 during the Test match played against Bangladesh in Kolkata. It has been almost 2 years since then, but not a single century has come off Kohli’s bat. Everyone was expecting Kohli to score big in the first innings against South Africa but he could only contribute 35 runs.
