The bureau of the FIFA Council unanimously decided to suspend the All India Football Federation with immediate effect for ‘unwarranted interference’
A very bad news has come out for India in the field of sports. FIFA dealt a big blow to India, which was preparing to organize FIFA’s tournament next year. FIFA has suspended the All India Football Federation with immediate effect, citing undue influence of third parties. Also, the hosting of FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2022 to be held in India in October has also been cancelled.
Let us tell you that earlier this month, FIFA had warned the All India Football Federation to suspend it for the same reason. AIFF elections are to be held on August 28. The matter is to be heard in the Supreme Court on August 17.
